■Seisaku Kanae
After four years as an assistant at Saito Productions, led by Saito Takao, he left Saito Productions. After many twists and turns, he studied under Koike Kazuo at Studio Ship (now Koike Shoin), and in 1973 made his serial debut with "Karaa Do", based on Koike's original story. His "Experimental Doll Dummy Oscar", serialized in "GORO" (Shogakukan), was a hot topic that stimulated the young generation at the time. Kanae's "Magical Story", which began serialization in the magazine "Big Comic Original", was a hot topic as it was a complete departure from his previous gekiga-style drawings and changed to a manga-like style. He eventually left Studio Ship and founded Studio Advance in 1987. He is a popular artist who is active in a variety of areas, mainly creating comics, but also venturing into pin-up illustrations, computer graphics, and character design for games. His CG illustrations, especially those made using Photoshop, are so highly polished that they are featured in pin-up collections and magazines for creators.
This time, in collaboration with k3&co., works drawn in the 1980s from the "Kanae Seisaku Art Collection" are embroidered and printed on sweatshirts and T-shirts.
