This coat, tailored to an exquisite mid-length, is one of our popular items, available in a variety of materials. It is woven into tweed using two colors of undyed yarn that makes the most of the natural color of alpaca fur. The large collar provides excellent protection against the cold, and the raglan sleeves make it comfortable and easy to move in. The authentic atmosphere that the tweed exudes is also an appealing piece.

This tweed fabric is made from undyed Peruvian alpaca yarn, spun into yarn by Towa Woolen Mills in Ichinomiya, Owari, which specializes in spinning alpaca yarn, and woven on a Schonherr loom, one of the oldest shuttle looms still in existence in the same region. Kuzuri Woolen Mills, which owns this loom, is a long-established company that has been in business since the Taisho era. Even today, they continue to weave high-quality fabrics using only Schonherr looms. 100% alpaca fabrics, which use alpaca for both the warp and weft, are difficult to weave unless you are a craftsman who understands the characteristics of the material, and patterned fabrics like those used in Text are particularly rare even on a global scale.
