The traditional Arimatsu tie-dyeing technique is applied to the fabric, which is made by wrapping countless finely sharpened threads around the tips of the fabric and then tie-dyeing it. The polyester fabric with transfer printing is tie-dyed, and the tie marks are fixed to the fabric using heat and steam, like pleating, rather than dyeing, to create a garment that looks like a hoodie with a college logo.
By allowing the tie-dyeing to set, the entire garment becomes spiky like a hedgehog, but when worn, the tie-dye marks allow the fabric to stretch endlessly like a stretch cloth. The size before the tie-dyeing process is just right for someone over 3m tall, so no matter how big a person is, they can wear it in a size that fits them perfectly.
