The "fabric" series reinterprets and develops various materials each season.
This season the focus is on shuttle loom denim.
This was arrived at after a search for a fabric that could stand on its own without a lining, and the fabric is woven in Hiroshima Prefecture and processed in Okayama Prefecture before being used in the product.
The individuality of the fabric is highlighted through a variety of items, including a bag modeled after an Azuma bag inspired by Japanese clothing, a bucket hat with a dropped brim, and a necklace made from scrap wood.
Only the bucket hat is made from 12.5oz selvedge denim, which has been sanforized to reduce shrinkage.
All other models are made from extra-thick 22-ounce denim fabric, which is normally difficult to weave due to the stiffness of the thread.
The Bio Wash process gives the fabric a natural fading and softness.
The "square shoulder bag" features a "tick tag" branding made of vegetable tanned leather that changes over time.
