This is an ambitious piece that adapts the classic American item, the Tanker Jacket (JACKET, WINTER, COMBAT), so that it can be worn reversibly.
The later model design is used on the front and the earlier model on the back.
By using completely different materials on both sides, we have created a look that makes it hard to believe they are the same item.
The inside is padded with Primaloft for a lightweight look.
One unique feature is that the inside is quilted, which is a reference to the civilian tanker jackets worn by yellow cab drivers.
Other features include fake action pleats on the shoulders.
This is a piece that can be arranged in a short length and enjoyed layered.
The ribbing on the cuffs is made longer and thumb holes have been added to provide added protection from the cold.
Fabric
Outer material
72/3FINX GABA.
Gabardine woven at high density in Hamamatsu using 72/3 Finks cotton.
Giza cotton (Egypt), one of the world's three major cottons, can only be grown in limited areas, and is all hand-picked to ensure that the cotton is harvested without being damaged.
This cotton is made gently and carefully through a process that spares no effort.
By twisting the yarn, which has the luster and smoothness unique to Finks cotton, into a triple-stranded yarn, we have created a fabric that is highly durable and, even when woven, is gentle on the skin, yet strong and long-lasting.
lining
The material used is a reproduction of the nylon ripstop used by the US military during the Vietnam War in the 1960s. It has a washer finish that gives it a nice texture.
LINING
PrimaLoft is a revolutionary ultra-fine microfiber material developed by Albany at the request of the United States military as a substitute for down.
Not only is it light, warm, and flexible like feathers, it also has the water-repellent properties that feathers do not have.
It was born as a revolutionary synthetic down that combines unprecedented functionality (insulation, cold protection technology) with high practicality that can be used in any environment.
It is used in the U.S. Army and Navy's cold-weather clothing, and is highly regarded for its heat retention, light weight, water repellency, flexibility, breathability, and packability. As an alternative to high-quality goose down, it is now used in a variety of applications, including down jackets, sleeping bags, bedding, and pillows.
